Hello World!

So now that the pressure of a first entry is over and done with, let's get down to business.

HELLO! My name is Kristin and I am twenty year old college undergrad at the University of Connecticut. I'm heading into my junior year and am pleased to say that I have finally found my place at such a large university. My place, as it turns out, is caught in the in-betweens of the Sociology and Women's Studies departments, researching gender/sexuality and embracing the feminist movement.

When I'm not on campus being a nerd, you can find me in a town by the shore of Connecticut, living with my folks and brother, being just as, if not more, nerdy. I spend the majority of my time home with my family, as I am an Italian girl who was raised to believe that the three most important things in life are family, macaroni, and seven courses of seafood on Christmas Eve.

The joy in my life is a six year old, who I am blessed to call my niece. She never ceases to make me laugh, as she has the wit and smarts of an elderly woman who has seen the world twice over. We spend our time together skateboarding, talking about chocolate milk, and repeating phrases at the dinner table until it annoys everyone around us. Needless to say, she keeps me young and reminds me to laugh.

I originally took to this blog in an attempt to lay out my deepest thoughts and problems, hoping to find myself along the way. Then, I realized that I have never been one to be serious and contemplative all the time and laughed at myself for being so foolish to think I would be. If I were to keep this blog as serious as I had planned to, I wouldn't even want to read it, let alone you. So, while I cannot promise that this blog will be the most action-filled & interesting, I can tell you that it is sure to contain stories, rants, and lists galore. All of which will be slightly ridiculous and majorly awesome.
